About us

The hotel group BEST 3 STAR HOTELS of Switzerland was founded on 1 October 2015 by the tourism marketing company smarket ag and 7 hoteliers at the time and has since united the best three-star hotels in Switzerland. The hotels are and remain independent and are mostly owner-managed.

All member establishments impress with their modern infrastructure and above-average service. In addition to outstanding guest ratings, numerous quality criteria from higher-level categories as well as their own special standards must be met. All properties are inspected by independent, external specialists on a regular basis.

All member hotels are managed with a high level of host presence. The well-being and the interests of the guests are always what matters the most. The main goal of every host is to exceed the expectations of their guests. This is guaranteed by fulfilling the most important services with high standards, but deliberately omitting unnecessary luxury services. Therefore, there is a deliberate focus on understatement, which is greatly appreciated by guests.

Selection of quality standards of our hotels

We are consciously guided by our quality standards towards 4 or 5-star hotels. Following a brief excerpt from our quality standards, compliance with which is regularly checked by external experts:

  • Top hotel reputation (including a “Trustyou” score of at least 4.2).
  • Highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Excellent state of preservation of the hotel. Contemporary furnishings, textiles and equipment are in harmony and of above-average quality.
  • Guest attention. High presence of the hosts.
  • We pamper our guests because we believe they deserve no other. And we always want to surprise our guests anew. With small, unexpected things.
  • We grasp the wishes of our guests and make sure to implement them in a quick and uncomplicated manner. 
  • Our staff not only know the hotel but also the destination and are able to advice guests competently. Multilingualism is a prerequisite.
  • Rooms: Our guests await high-quality materials, hygienically well-maintained mattresses, drinking water free of charge and a small, in-room gift.
  • Bathrooms: Slippers, high-quality bath/cosmetic articles, pleasant quality of terry towels, cosmetic mirror.
  • Breakfast: Neat table culture, welcoming breakfast offer.
  • Local products are offered. We pay special attention to sustainability wherever possible.
