About us

The BEST 3 STAR HOTELS hotel group was founded on 1 October 2015 by the marketing company smarket ag and  7 hoteliers at that time and has since united the best three-star hotels in Switzerland. The hotels are and remain independent and are majority owner-managed.

All member hotels convince through modern infrastructure and above-average service. In addition to excellent guest ratings, numerous quality criteria from superior categories as well as their own special standards must also be met. The control takes place at regular intervals by independent, external specialists.

“Exceeding guest expectations is a central concern of all our member companies. This is why the quality directly perceived by our guests is so important,” says President Michel Wichman of Hotel Spitzhorn in Saanen/Gstaad.

“The constant personal presence of the hosts at the front also distinguishes our establishments and is highly appreciated by our guests. Our typical guest is looking for the familiar atmosphere of a small or medium-sized boutique hotel,” explains Vice President Sandro Bernasconi of Hotel Waldhaus in St. Moritz.

Selection of quality standards for our hotels

Our quality requirements are consciously based on 4- and 5-star hotels. Here is a brief excerpt from our quality standards, which compliance is regularly checked by external experts:

  • Top reputation of the hotel (including Trustyou score of at least 4.2)
  • Highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Excellent condition of the hotel. Contemporary furnishings, textiles and furnishings are coordinated with each other and of above-average quality.
  • Attention to the guest. At the same time the high presence of the hosts at the front.
  • We spoil our guests by conviction. We want to inspire our guests – with planned small surprises – guest wishes are seized and converted accordingly.
  • The coworkers know not only the hotel, but also the Destination and are able to give valuable information.
  • Rooms: high quality materials, hygienically maintained mattresses, free drinking water as well as a little gift for the guests.
  • Bathroom: slippers, high quality bath/cosmetic articles, pleasant quality of terry towels, cosmetic mirror.
  • Breakfast: cultivated table culture, attractive breakfast offer. sensitization to local products and/or sustainability.
